My Kincaid Ancestors came from Edinburg, Scotland in the 1700's. They settled in Chester County, Pennsylvania and later Augusta, Albermarle, Rockbridge and Bath Counties of Virginia. In the late 1700's they moved into Greenbrier, Boutetourt, Monroe, most ending up in what became Fayette, Raleigh, Summers, Lewis, Clay, Nicholas, and Upshur counties of West Virginia.

In my use of the Internet to do research, I have met many wonderful cousins on-line and have shared a lot of my research with them and them with me.  There are so many different views on the Kincaid Linage, and many are posted in Ancestry.  I have never added my research there or to any other place other than my own web pages.  Others have added what I shared with them on that site though, and added their views to that.   I do not claim my views to be correct , but  I've tried to make sure what I post here is correct.  Once it is added to Ancestry or World Tree, it is spread around, and I've tried to get those who have posted incorrect information to change it with no success.  I try not to post living people without their consent.  So, I cut off my reports with persons born after 1930, unless they are deceased.
