How to play

The Sudoku game board is a square divided into nine rows and and nine columns. The game board is also divided into nine equal sections, forming a three by three grid. Each section contains three rows and three columns.

The rules are simple. The player must find the correct number, one through nine, belonging to each space in the empty rows and columns. The part that makes it dificult is that no row, column, or section can have a duplicate number.

Review the finished game below. Note that the 9 different sections contain only the numbers one through nine and that none of the numbers are duplicated. Also note that each of the nine columns and nine rows have the numbers one through nine and that none of the numbers are duplicated.

Sudoku games will always begin with some of numbers given to you. These numbers are used as hints to determine the numbers that belong in the remaining empty spaces. As each of the spaces are filled in, the new numbers found are then used as clues to determine what numbers belong in the remaining empty spaces.

The puzzle is ccomplete when alll of the empty spaces are filled in and the solution is found.

Remember, while there can be Sudoku games that contain multiple different numbers in certain spaces, all games in the Sudoku Puzzle Book have a single solution. So there is only one overall solution and each space must have the correct number to complete the puzzle and find the solution.

Sudoku games can be made easier by starting with more filled in spaces. Each of the Sudoku Puzzle book games has the minimum number of filled required to ensure a single solution. So with Sudoku Puzzle Book there are usually very few clues to start with.
